On 19th and 20th June, Yellow Rail exhibited for the first time at Rail Live!   This outdoor exhibition, held at the Long Marston Quinton Rail Technology in Warwickshire offered show visitors the opportunity to see demonstrations of both the Railathe and the Mobile Wheel Reprofiling Service on a railway vehicle throughout the two days of the show.  The MWRS has been developed in partnership with VTG, Europe’s largest wagon owner.   “We have been delighted by the response of visitors to our system. Yellow Rail’s Bogie Overhaul facility is now fully operational, with our first overhauled bogie completed and delivered on time. Yellow has made a considerable investment into the new Bogie Overhaul facility. This includes the recruitment of experienced and dedicated bogie overhaul staff, welders, a Service Delivery Manager, Supervisor including a dedicated Engineer. The service is being delivered from our fully equipped workshop in the company’s new Haydock Park Road facility, employing technology to ensure an efficient process and quality product. This Y25 freight bogie was overhauled in collaboration with VTG UK, part of the VTG group, Europe’s leading private rail wagon owner, which has recently announced its acquisition of the Nacco Group growing their existing European fleet by around 11,000 wagons. Yellow Rail’s most recent addition to the Engineering team, Graduate Mechanical Engineer Jack Burrows-Flower has successfully been awarded a First-Class master’s in mechanical engineering at the University of Derby. A passionate and active steam enthusiast, Jack has quickly settled into the team and is involved in a range of diverse development and project works. Chris Handsley has also recently joined the Engineering team as Project Engineer. Chris has just been awarded a Bachelor Engineering (honours) in electrical and electronics from Sheffield Hallam University. Chris brings with him 11 years of rolling stock experience, focusing particularly on technical support, fault finding and fleet systems integration.
